TRUMPF is a high-tech company for machine tools and laser technology, and its innovations have an impact on almost every industry. The family-owned company’s mission is to further develop production technology, making it more efficient, precise, future-proof and connected.
The first foreign subsidiary was founded in Switzerland in 1963. In 2017, TRUMPF consolidated its Swiss subsidiaries to form TRUMPF Schweiz AG. With sites in Grüsch, Baar and Bottighofen and approximately 770 employees, the Swiss subsidiary is now one of the largest in the TRUMPF Group.
The TRUMPF brand represents innovative machine tools and laser technology worldwide. Among other things, the Swiss site in Grüsch constructs laser cutting machines and marking lasers, with the latter also being developed here. We took a look behind the scenes and explored what fascinates the employees about their work, TRUMPF as a company and the Graubünden region.
At the high-tech company TRUMPF, the path to a solution is never a straight line. Quite the contrary. In our interview with Head of Marking Solutions, Benedikt Rentsch, we learn that the team at the Grüsch office like to draw beyond the edge of the paper to find new ideas. And we find out why TRUMPF sometimes shoot their lasers at clouds.
Nature lovers and tech nerds aren’t the only ones who feel at home here – so do design fans, change makers and gourmands: at the head office of TRUMPF, the international player in Grüsch.
Andreas Conzelmann has already stood on top of one of the 14 highest mountains in the world. Today, the CEO of TRUMPF Schweiz AG is less interested in extremes than in experiencing nature – “I have children,” he says.
The company TRUMPF does not tolerate standard solutions – neither in manufacturing innovative machine tools, nor in employee management.
